汉朝时，少年的匡衡，非常勤奋好学。由于家里很穷，所以他白天必须干许多活，挣钱糊口。只有晚上，他才能坐下来安心读书。但是，他又买不起蜡烛，天一黑，就无法看书了。匡衡心痛这浪费的时间。他的邻居很富有，一到晚上点起蜡烛，屋子照得通亮。有一天匡衡鼓起勇气，对邻居说：“我晚上想读书，可买不起蜡烛，能否借用您家的一寸之地呢?”邻居一向瞧不起穷人，就挖苦说：“既然穷得买不起蜡烛，还读什么书呢!”匡衡听后非常气愤，不过他更下定决心，一定要把书读好。匡衡回到家中，悄悄地在墙上凿了个小洞，邻居家的烛光就从这洞中透过来了。他借着这微弱的光线，如饥似渴地读起书来，渐渐地把家中的书全都读完了。
我们再从古代穿越到现代，看看我们的班级。我们班的金文静同学，她一开始成绩并不是很优秀，可是，在月考的前几个星期里，娇小的她励志要发愤图强，一鸣惊人。这些作为她同桌的我，都被了解个一干二净。大家不知道她在我们休息时干了多少不为人知的事情。她的努力没有白费，最终月考成绩占据全班第二名宝座的，是她!匡衡和金文静同学因此能成功，完全是因为他们勤奋，他们有一颗想去读书的心。
同学们，作为新时代的主人，我们更应该学习他们，学习他们的良好品质。我们应该去励志学习，励志为中华之崛起而读书! 让我们一起迈进成功!

good afternoon， everyone。 it’s my great honor to stand here and give you a short speech。 my topic is “never give up”。 now let’s begin。
have you seen a film named titanic， i believe no one will shake head。 it’s a film about how the ship titanic sank into the sea in that time。 it is very e_citing。 but i am quite interested in the story of the film， jack and rose’s story。 i can learn some deeper things from it。
after the ship hit an iceberg and sank into the sea。 jack and rose and other people fell into the cold sea water。 as the weather was getting colder and colder， they were gradually stepping into death。 jack asked rose to promise him not to give up the hope of life。 at last， jack was dead， and rose had a narrow escape， because she listened to jack and didn’t give up。

孩子从初中到高中是他人生路上的一个跨越，高二阶段是高中的一个重要阶段。作为教师，我们深深知道，那每一张灿烂可爱的笑脸都承载着在座各位家长的殷切希望和美好憧憬;作为教师，我们一直在探索，如何尽己所能，使干巴巴的课堂教学变得生动活泼，使平平淡淡的“白开水”变成香甜可口的“咖啡”与“奶茶”，让孩子乐意学习，感受到学习的多彩，激起探索的欲望，享受成功的喜悦。我们也一直在思考，如何使我们的家长也能走进新课程，了解当前教育改革的动向，成为学校教学的加油站。我们愿意借今天的家长会，就学校的管理、近期的工作和学生的状况、面临的任务与大家进行交流，和大家一同探讨孩子的学习和生活上碰到的一些问题，驾设起学校与家庭协同教育的桥梁。
我们都知道，省委办公厅、省政府办公厅转发了省教育厅等部门的《关于进一步规范中小学办学行为，深入实施素质教育的意见》，苏州市教育局也下发了《苏州市执行“三项规定”，落实“五个严格”，保证一小时运动，全面提高教育质量的实施意见》的文件，俩份文件都强调了要控制学生在校时间，不准补课，又要提高教学质量。于是，我们这届学生，面临着新的教学形势：和上学期相比，课时大大减少;而其它地方采取了相应的策略，比如像由县政府出面，利用县里的教育电视频道，从暑假开始，每门学科就安排了顶尖教师从早到晚轮流上课，学生在家收看，共享优秀的教师资源，而且开学后的双休日也这样运作。
面对这些情况，我们学校从领导到老师，不仅有着强烈的责任感，更有着深深的危机感，正是这种责任心、危机感和沉重的压力，使我们采取相应措施。我校实行了年级分管制和领导蹲点制，层层把关，级级参与。学校要求领导全部下沉教学第一线，要求领导和师生共同学习、进步，这样不仅能很好的了解到教育管理，教学第一手的材料，更能体现出全员参与的团结协作意识，对于教学中出现的问题做到及时发现，立即处理。
质量是学校的生命，虽然现在是高二，但我们一直用“准高三”的标准来严格要求师生。我们高二年级质管组成员每周都有例会，商讨近期全年级的教育教学工作的问题及解决方案，每周都规定时间召开班主任会，具体布置和交流学生教育工作的各个环节或要求，每次的班主任会都会对近时段存在的问题有针对性地提出探讨、分析，从而起到借鉴的作用。每个班级都经常不定期地进行以班主任为召集人的班级分析会，及时了解班级中的突出问题，交流、协调、处理问题。上到领导，下到各任课教师，人人都本着“以生为本，严格管理”的态度，齐抓共管，团结合作，和-谐进步，努力形成一种“团结、创新、和-谐”发展的新局面。
作为高二的学生，本学期非同寻常，担负着异常艰巨的重任。江苏省自__年进入新课程，本届学生将在__年参加高考，这是新高考方案实行的第四年。高考的统考科目是语文、数学、外语三门学科，语文160分，数学160分，外语120分，三门总分440分。另外，选修测试历史的考生加试语文附加题，选修测试物理的考生加试数学附加题，附加题的分值都是40分，这样，高考总分为480分。高考录取分数线就看语文、数学和外语的总分。为此，我们语文、数学和外语三门学科的老师从内容到作业、考试，都渗透高考的要求。而对我们的孩子来说，紧抓语数外，养成积极的学习兴趣和科学的学习习惯，就意味着高考成功了一半，所以，抓好高二第一学期的工作，意义极为深远。
